We are happy to introduce our new offerings of meteorite and impactite thin sections! For those of you that have worked with
thin sections before, you will be pleased with the quality of these specimens, and those of you unfamiliar will be introduced to
an incredible view of these unearthly objects and the rocks they impacted!
An otherwise dull-appearing meteorite will look exquisitely beautiful in thin section, revealing complex mineral relationships,
structure, and history. The impactites will show shock veins, shock deformation, and pressure/temperature metamorphism. All
of our thin sections are professionally prepared on 45x25mm slides with cover slips, and each section is individually labelled
as well! Limited availablility! See our website for photographs!
THIN SECTIONS of the following meteorites are in stock. All are professionally prepared 45x25mm thin sections with cover slips, and all are individually labelled. Prices start at $75.00 and vary with the individual thin section. Call or email for a precise quote.

CARBONADO:
“Giant Black Diamonds of Mysterious Origin May Hail from Space!”
said the headline in the New York Times article in the Science
Times section of September 17, 1996. These black diamonds, known
as carbonadoes, are found primarily in the Central African Republic
and in Brazil, and their origins have been debated extensively.
Recent findings suggest that the isotopic signatures found in
carbonadoes is quite like that of micro extra-solar diamonds found
in meteorites, and it has been proposed that all the evidence
is suggestive of their formation as a new class of meteorites.
